The Leitchfield City Council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at City Hall

The Leitchfield Utilities Commission meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm at City Hall.

Gas pressure ranges up to 150 (psi).  City gas is supplied by six inch steel lines connecting to a Texas Gas 36-inch transmission main.

Note: Leitchfield's Water Treatment Plant currently serves all of the City of Leitchfield and parts of Grayson County.  The industrial area water flows at 60 lbs per square inch (psi), residual at 1,100 gallon.

Note:   The Leitchfield Wastewater Treatment Plant now has a 17 million  gallon equalization basin.  The collection system also had an extensive upgrade in 2001.

 

Waste Management: The City of Leitchfield has residential curbside solid waste and recycling service. Currently, Leitchfield has a long-term contract with a landfill operation in Ohio County.  Their high-tech equipment has allowed this landfill to be in compliance with state and federal regulations.
 

Transportation

Phase II (KY 259 north – KY 920), let in July 2002 and completed in November 2004.   

Phase III (Wallace Ave. – KY 920), let in November 2003 and work started April 15, 2004.  Projected completion date is fall of 2006.  Scotty's Contracting & Stone, LLC, Bowling Green is the primary contractor.

The Western Kentucky Parkway Interchange & widening of KY 259 overpass bridge was completed in the fall of 2005.

The US 62 (Mill Street) widening project from KY 259, east to the Bypass is currently scheduled for a construction letting upon the completion of Phase III of the Bypass.

The US 62 (Beaver Dam Road) & KY 187 (Shrewsbury Road) safety project began on June 26, 2006 and is expected to be completed by September 1, 2006. The project will include widening and other improvements such as a turning lane. Improvements will extend from McDonald Road to KY 187. Scotty’s Contracting & Stone, LLC, Bowling Green is the primary contractor.

Industrial Sites

Leitchfield has four established industrial park sites. They are: Leitchfield Industrial Park (northeast of the city off Salt River Road); Commerce Drive Business Park (just south of the Western Kentucky Parkway); MTD Industrial Park and Judge Kenneth H. Goff Industrial Park on Hwy 259 North. The Judge Kenneth H. Goff Industrial Park offers a 27-acre site readily available with public road access and all utilities to the site. An additional 100 acres was recently purchased for industrial development. Plans are underway to extend Judge Kenneth H. Goff Drive onto the property as well as utility extensions

Manufactured Products   

Grayson County's industrial base manufactures a variety of products: Clothes, honey extracting equipment, cutting tools, lumber, cheese, power painting equipment and air compressors, boating and truck winches and windlasses, wood stripping devices, golf clubs, wood and metal furniture components, injection molded plastics, concrete products, production machining, farm gates, metal stampings, hinges and pins, crushed stone, saw blades and hedge trimmers.
